Please remind your friends that theseare available to them.Beginning the weekend of November 5th and 6th, themembers lounge will return to full service on Fridays andSaturdays. We will once again be fully staffed to serve you.Because it has been a while, the decision was made to openinitially with the current limited menu that we have for theweekends. Chef Michael Bolton will continue to offer differentspecials each weekend. Once the staff is back up to speed, wewill roll out the new full menu. One thing that will be veryimportant is for our members to call the reservation line andmake reservations. This is so important for proper staffing andfood preparation. Please call the reservation line, 886-8850,and make your reservations for weekend dining and ourWednesday buffet. One last item regarding Fridays andSaturdays, once we are fully staffed, expect to be seated in thedining room once again and not the lounge. We would like thelounge to be available for cocktails and conversation beforeand after your meal. Remember, the members dining room isclosed on the membership meeting night.The Wednesday night buffet has been doing very well the lastfew weeks and has been offering more of a variety of items. Iwant to thank Guy Schetter for stepping up to help onWednesdays. If anyone else is interested in volunteering tohelp on the buffet, even once a month, please contact me.Reservations are always recommended as this helps us planfor staffing and food preparation. 3 children.Josephine Marie ChiappettaApril 29, 1930 – September 2, 2021Josephine Marie Chiappetta, 91, alifetime resident of Racine, WIpassed away from natural causes onThursday, September 2, 2021, atAscension All Saints Hospital. Shewas surrounded by her loving family.Josephine (“Dolly”, “Jo”, ‘Josie”) wasborn at home on April 29, 1930 in Racine, WI to Rosarioand Maria (nee: Imbrogno) DeRose, the 5th oldest of 8children. She was a proud graduate of William HorlickHigh School “Class of 1948”. Josephine met the man ofher dreams, William Chiappetta, at a dance in Racine andthey married in 1955. They were the love of each other’slives and were married for 66 years. After high school, sheworked for Wisconsin Electric for 12 years and then retiredfrom Kohl’s department store after 28 years.A lifetime member of Vittoria Colonna Lodge, Josephineenjoyed playing golf, dancing, Bocce, and spending timewith her family. Her proudest achievement was raising herJosephine will always be remembered as a dedicated andloving mother and grandmother. She was constantly moreconcerned about others’ well-being over her own. Shewas generous, supportive, thoughtful, patient, giving,kind, loyal, and fun with a wonderful sense of humor. Shewas blessed with 7 beautiful grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren who brought so much love and joy to herlife.She is survived and will be dearly missed by her lovinghusband William Chiappetta; her 3 children, LauraChiappetta (Lainee Uberti) of Los Angeles, CA, DianaGraves (Robert) of Covina, CA, and William Chiappetta(Michelle) of Arvada, CO; her 7 grandchildren, GraceChiappetta-Uberti, Maggie Chiappetta-Uberti, BraydenChiappetta, Bailey Chiappetta, Olivia Graves, DominicGraves and Briana Wittmann; her 3 great-grandchildren,Ellis, Brooklyn and Lula; her sister, Mary Jane Pillizzi; herbrother, Roger DeRose (Georganne); and her 5 nieces and7 nephews. Golf was followed by awonderful dinner consisting of appetizers, a wonderful steak sandwich dinner prepared by ournew Chef Michael Bolton, and a tomato salad by Sous Chef Ralph Lipari.The 2021 season consisted of 12 golf dates spread over the summer and early fall with at least one scramble each month.This year, the league held 2 scrambles in Burlington at the Browns Lake Golf Course. The outing on June 28th concluded witha picnic at George Chardukian’s home on Bohner’s Lake, and following the August 30th scramble, golfers had dinner at a localrestaurant in Burlington.Once again, the league had excellent attendance this year with a 61.5% participation rate (based on roster on file), anaverage of 16 golfers for each outing. The League represents a great way for members to get acquainted and/or to getreacquainted with those members that head to warmer climates over the winter months. The Lodge encourages allmembers to get involved, the league is nonmandatory so if you can only make it once or at every outing you are alwayswelcome. A gracious thank you to all members participating in this year’s golf league. I am already contemplating somePage me3 atchanges next year to add to our enjoyment.
